Our Team of Two ~ About Lens Travellers

Julie Kerbel and Lynn Gail have set up Lens Travellers together to fill a niche they felt needed filling - to offer women's only photography retreats and workshops within Australia and overseas.  They believe special connections are made when like minded people come together to share a common interest.  Their vision is to pass on their knowledge in an environment that is both welcoming and educational.   Julie and Lynn also offer events where everyone is welcome.  Their enthusiasm and passion for building Lens Travellers is focused on their guests, and on building lasting relationships.

A little about Lynn:

Lynn is a West Australian based travel photographer with a focus on culturally diverse subjects, ancient belief systems, and off the grid destinations.  Her travels have taken her into the homelands in Nhulunbuy, East Arnhem Land to share the ways of the Yolngu People, the world's oldest living culture, and to Home Island in the Cocos Keeling Islands to spend time with the Cocos Malay during Hari Raya, to descending into a mud crypt during a Turning of the Bones Ceremony in Madagascar.  Her photographic work is produced by various travel magazines and she is represented by one of the world’s leading photographic agency, Robert Harding World Imagery.

Lynn is dedicated to helping and teaching others through photographic workshops and retreats.  She has a passion for making a soulful connection with the diverse cultures she meets, and as a travel photographer feels compelled to capture the essence of the people and places she encounters. She feels making a connection with her subjects, however brief, is important in producing images that reflect honesty in the patterns of people in their everyday lives. Assignments have taken her to the Cocos Keeling Islands, Christmas Island, Madagascar, Bali, Sardinia, Kenya, China, India, Lesser Sunda Islands, Spice Islands, Java, Indonesia and the remote homelands of the Yolngu people in the Northern Territory.

Lynn is a fully accredited member and an award winner of both the Australian Institute of Professional Photography and the Australian Society of Travel Writers.  As a travel writer & photographer Lynn's published work is here: www.lynngail.com.au
